The Neoteric Outdoor Playground Amusement Park in Tulsa--Gathering Place
Tulsa, the former [Oil Capital of the World," is Oklahoma`s second largest city in America. The town that started in the early 20th century has since grown into an urban city that offers mid-west comfort in a cosmopolitan style. Throughout the many districts, there are hundreds of activities and events designed for people of all walks of life. From family outings to nightlife and dining, you will always find a unique experience in Tulsa.
On September 8, Tulsa celebrated the grand opening of Gathering Place, a new park beside the Arkansas River near the city`s Maple Ridge neighborhood. That`s not unusual-but Gathering Place is very different from the average public park in its variety of spaces and sheer scale.
It is a brand new riverfront park in Tulsa, which was designed as a green space where members of Tulsa's diverse communities could come together to explore, learn and play. The project of building the park was extensive and ambitious with a long list of exciting features--like among other a skate park, a boathouse, a digital sensory garden and a reading tree.
The park has a five-acre adventure outdoor playground and for children aged two through 12.
River Giants
The first scene come into people's eyes is a big paddlefish ,which is placed next to the two herons with lots of trunks for the kids to climb on. The excellent colors and untraditional design leave children and parents very deep impression. One of the interesting things is people will feel vulnerable and small by standing under the herons and looking up at their delicate neck.
The noble, proud herons are a outdoor playground for kids who want the exciting rush of sliding down the 12 feet high slides and play hide and seek in the bodies of the herons.
Nobody can image that the paddlefish is a great adventure too. With the low and special entrance through the mouth, it is more suitable for small-size to craw in there. The insides of the fish is carefully designed with wooden structures that makes a excellent play of light.
The insides are designed with as much care as the outside. The gap between the wooden planks makes a beautiful play of lights, giving the experience of climbing inside an extra dramatic effect.
The herons are designed to climb inside and crawl up to the top to take the slide down. The kids will feel the tickling in the stomach while sliding down the 12 feet.
The many trunks are connected with rope for the kids to balance on and climb across.
The paddlefish is especially suited for the smaller kids to play in.
The cradle swings are ground level play elements. Mobility impaired guests can access the cradle swings through a walkway adjacent to the Paddlefish. Wheelchair guests would need to transition into the cradle swing.

The sand play area has a lower tiered sand box with three play houses and wooden boats in the center. There is a transition platform provided for mobility impaired guests. Also, one of the playhouses is accessible from the ground level, providing equal access for all. Mobility impaired guests can access this area from the boardwalk surrounding the sand play area.
Spiral Connector And Towers
The Spiral Connector and Towers are among the most iconic areas in Gathering Place. These majestic towers, seven in total, are specifically designed to encourage physical play while stimulating the imagination. The Spiral Connector and Towers are a series of climbing structures, net and suspension bridges and slides. Mobility impaired guests can access the Towers via the Spiral Connector as well as the ramp located to the left of the restrooms. This access will allow the guest to access the elevated level of four towers.
Mobility impaired guests can access the play ship from a boardwalk located to the right of the highest slide.
Volcanoville
